The Office of the Civil Defense- Cordillera went in partnership with the BB- PICAG for the 24/7 monitoring of the OCD- CAR Operations Center. A Memorandum of Agreement was signed by the BB- PICAG President Mr. Jose B. Alvarez and Mr. Andrew Alex H. Uy, the Acting Regional Director of the OCD- CAR on February 28, 2014 at the Office of the Civil Defense- CAR. Also, present at the signing were Mr. Neftali A. Marilla, the Immediate Past President and Mr. Felizardo Garcia, Past President and members of the BB- PICAG who were able to commit their voluntary service. This Memorandum of Agreement is a part of the BB- PICAG’s leveling up with regards to Disaster Risk Reduction and Crisis Management. 

Meeting Up with our sponsor- CALTEX CHEVRON Family. With Mr. Greg Engeler, the Senior Product Engineering Specialist of Chevron Corporation held last February 20, 2014 at the Baguio Country Club- Ballroom Hall. The program proper started at 9:00AM, along with this, BB- PICAG was given a chance to talk and present what the group is, and what the group is doing for the citizenry of Baguio and in Benguet. On his talk, Mr. Neftali Marilla, the Immediate Past President reiterated the leveling up of BB- PICAG on Crisis Management, involving the group on Disaster Risk Reduction Management and Climate Change Adaptation.

FEBRUARY 18, 2014- DISASTER RISK REDUCTION NETWORK PHILIPPINES (DRRNetPhils) – This was held at Hotel Supreme, Magsaysay, Baguio City with the theme: BRIDGING GAPS AND MAKING PARTNERSHIPS WORK IN LOCALIZING THE PHILIPPINE DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT ACT. Mr. Andrew Alex Uy, the Acting Regional Director of the Office of the Civil Defense- CAR shared a talk regarding on the Disaster Risk Reduction Management. The afternoon sessions was primarily on workshop that enables each agency to present their plans regarding on the mitigation interventions.

The Baguio- Benguet Public Information and Civic Action Group in cooperation with the AIR FORCE Tactical Operations Group 1 at Loakan Airport under the command of Major Gerick Dollente and the PNP- PROCOR is accepting donations for the typhoon Yolanda victims. We accept donations at our office located at Upper Session Road, Fr. Carlu Loop, Baguio City.

 As of November 19, 2013, more than 1000 boxes of assorted clothes for female, male and kids, as well as foods such as canned goods, noodles, rice, and drinking water was collected from our office by the AIRFORCE TOG 1 and PNP- PROCOR. All donations that was collected from the BB- PICAG office was brought to AIRFORCE TOG 1 Base at Loakan Airport and at Camp Dangwa by the PNP- PROCOR then will be transported to Manila then to affected areas at Visayas for proper distribution. Donations are still accepted. Maraming Salamat po sa lahat!  😀
